Funny what you were saying about local government getting everyone to buy these . They did the same thing here in England . I’m not sure they are necesary though , four stakes and a length of chicken wire wrapped round it will do and it costs less.

lawn clippings are also a good insulator like straw and can be used to protect from frost in early spring and late fall.

thanks for the info.
We have a composter now and plan to start using it this spring. I have never seen one in use, other than watching videos online so we are excited to be starting our own.
